SAVE THE DATE!!!

The 14th European Narcolepsy Days which immediately follows the 20th European Narcolepsy MasterClass, is a joint meeting with patients and includes clinical and scientific sessions on narcolepsy and its treatment, lectures on the most recent publications in the field of narcolepsy, pediatric updates, short presentations by young investigators on current research projects, a poster session and a keynote lecture on clinical, pathophysiological and therapeutic aspects of narcolepsy and its socio-economic impact.

Representatives of national patient organizations will host a joint workshop with clinicians and a second session in which questions prepared by patients will be discussed together with physicians and scientists.

CALL FOR ABSTRACT

We would like to invite all attendees of the 14th European Narcolepsy Days (Leiden, November 11-12th) to submit abstracts for the Poster Session and Young Investigator Session.

According to tradition, there will be awards for:

  • 2 Best Posters (one for basic, one for clinical research)
    500.00 € prize + 300.00 € max refund for travel and accommodation
  • 1 Best Oral Presentation
    500.00 € prize + 300.00 € max refund for travel and accommodation

 

⇒ CRITERIA OF ELIGIBILITY FOR YOUNG INVESTIGATOR SESSION

Four to six abstracts will be selected for the Short Oral Presentation.
To be eligible, the presenting author should be a student, post doc, or of similar level. The job position of the presenting author should be clearly stated in the submission form.
For both, Poster and young investigator sessions, abstracts should be sent to peyron@sommeil.univ-lyon1.fr by September 15th 2023.

Abstracts must be submitted electronically to peyron@sommeil.univ-lyon1.fr

  • Deadline for abstract submission is: September 15th 2023.
  • One single abstract per presenting author can be submitted; however, submitters can be co-authors on several abstracts.
  • Final selection: Abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee and notification of their acceptance as poster or oral presentation will be sent to the presenting author.

  • File format ⇒ Word (.doc, .docx)
  • Language ⇒ English
  • Font ⇒ Times new Roman, 11-point font
  • Title ⇒ boldface, lowercase letters
  • Authors Names ⇒ for each author, type in the last name, first name, and the indexes of the laboratories separated by a comma. (Eg: John White 1,2,3)
  • List of institutions to which the authors belong ⇒ italics
  • Abstract body ⇒ less than 300 words, single space


It is mandatory including, after the abstract body:

  • Name of the presenting author
  • current status of the presenting author (undergraduate student, graduate student, PhD student, Postdoctoral fellow, Assistant/Associate/Full professor)
  • E-mail and phone number of the presenting author


PLEASE NOTE: abstracts which do not follow instructions will be rejected

YOUNG SCIENTIST AWARD

The European Narcolepsy Network (EU-NN) aims to facilitate clinical and scientific progress in the field of narcolepsy and other hypersomnia of central origin.
For the 14th European Narcolepsy Days to be held in Leiden on November 11-12 2023, the EU-NN will grant a “Young Scientist Award”.
If you are an early carrier fellow, MD or PhD (doctorate student, post-doctorate fellow, intern in medicine), member of the EUNN, and have published an article on narcolepsy or hypersomnia of central origin between January 2022 and August 2023, in a key position (first or co-first), you are invited to apply for this award. The award is 3000€ and an invitation to present the awarded scientific work at the 14th Narcolepsy Day in Leiden (includes accommodation and travel expenses).
The application deadline is September 15th 2023.
Application should be addressed to the scientific committee of the EU-NN represented by Christelle Peyron : peyron@sommeil.univ-lyon1.fr

 

⇒ WHO CAN APPLY?

  • PhD or Post-doc or interns – Proof of status needed
  • 1st or co-1st paper in the field of narcolepsy and other hypersomnia of central origin in ’22 or ’23 (basic, pre-clinic or clinical study)
  • Be a member of the EU-NN

Official Language is English
Simultaneous translation will not be provided.

  • The 14th European Narcolepsy Days, Leiden, Netherlands 11/11/2023 – 12/11/2023, has been accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME®) with 9.0 European CME credits (ECMEC®s).
    Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity
